The President of the Board of Directors of the Eurasia Strategic Research Center (ASAD) Murat Doğanay has penned a response to French President Emmanuel Macron over his blasphemous remarks against Islam, as follows:

ONE MINUTE MR. MACRON!

You are the president of a country that carried out a revolution in 1789 with slogans such as “Liberty”, “Equality” and “Fraternity”.

Has France abandoned these basic values or have we missed something?

If you don’t immediately think of “liberty” and “equality” when discussing Islam and Muslims, and instead adopt segregationist and unfair measures against Islam and the Muslims who live in your country, then this is what one would call a cultural barbarity.

Abandoning your own values is your problem, but your animosity towards Islam, which has billions of worshipers, means your Islamophobic policy is an utter crime against humanity.

Doubling down on your profane cultural barbarity, which draws heavily from Islamophobic policies and xenophobia in your country, known as the so-called Cradle of Democracy, constitutes a serious threat against global peace.

We Muslims, do not only accept Muhammad (PBUH) as our Prophet but we consider all the Prophets that came before him as our own. For us, the disrespect and insults aimed at Prophet Muhammad is no less than any disrespect aimed against our Prophets Jesus and Moses. You must know that we Muslims are in favor of a world where everyone coexists in peace, where no one disrespects any human being because of their religion or lifestyle.

No matter how misguided those who commit crimes by turning Islam into a terror ideology are, in other words the ones who tarnish the sanctity of our religion; you’re just as mistaken in your policies which you embolden by exacerbating the situation. You have become party to the crime against humanity by institutionalizing the rage and animosity that some people display in the name of Islam, which themselves are born out of inhumane and un-Islamic terror policies.

Your support to this disrespectful and insulting cartoons as a state, beyond the denial of your own values, also makes you a party to a crime against humanity. You must know that the bomb which you have set off in the holy hearts of Muslims, living not only in your country, but across the world, is one which has set ablaze the social harmony of your country and the planet as a whole.

You, who wanted to turn into a crisis the criticism which our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan directed at the policies you adopted, must know that these hostile policies which you have fostered against our beliefs and holy values have hurt us deeply. I hope that the discomfort which you have felt due to the criticism aimed at you serves as a means for you to comprehend the deep wounds which you have inflicted onto the hearts of the billions of Muslims. You must know that the holy values of our exalted religion and our Prophet himself are worth 1,000 times more to us than our own lives.

Mr. Macron,

This path which you have set out on will only lead you to bitter disappointment. Before it’s too late, please step back from this approach and policies, which won’t benefit the peace of humankind, lest they turn Earth into a living hell teeming with rage and animosity.

You must know that we Muslims are never ones to start a war. But we would not let an assault on our sacred values go unanswered. Whatever the cost may be, we would not refrain from raising our voices and reacting in a democratic manner.

If you don’t abandon your Islamophobic policy, which will pave a new way to a new religious war and deal a blow to the peace of humanity, you will be known as the new Nero, history’s new barbaric leader.

Our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) called out on mankind in his last speech:

“O mankind! You are all Adam’s offspring. And Adam was made from clay. No one has superiority over another.”

This is the true doctrine which our Prophet and our religion would like to teach mankind.

You must know that, to marginalize and antagonize Islam, which is a school in humanitarianism, using allegations of terrorism, is actually a threat directed towards the understanding of equality between peoples.

Therefore we say liberty and equality for all without any conditions!
